Peter M.G. Johnston grew up in a quaint northern New South Wales coastal town. He left school at the age of fourteen, then left home at fifteen to explore his country. Peter worked as a labourer, miner, diamond driller before he entered the hotel industry. Peter met his wife, Elizabeth, in Milford Sound, New Zealand, in 1974. He went on to become a successful hotel resort operator. Retiring at the age of 59, he and his wife travelled the world before settling on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, so Peter could pursue his great love of writing.
