This is a great Western. located near Jasper, Alberta. In the first book of the series, Blue Pete: Half Breed, it appears that Blue Pete dies, at least to the eyes of Mahon. But Blue Pete survives with the help of Mira, his wife. Since he is an outlaw, he must keep out of sight from the Mounties. In the Return of Blue Pete, Pete is trying to right the wrongs he has done by returning rustled horses. These are in the Rocky Mountains where railways are being built. There the bohunks are up to no-good and Pete wants to make sure the contractors are not harmed. (Goodreads)

Luke Allan

Luke Allan was the pseudonym of Lacey Amy (1877-1962). He is known foremost for the series of 'Blue Pete' Western Canadian Mountie stories. He also created Detective Muldrew and a series of mysteries around New York City in 1930s. Here are five short stories, three Westerns and two philosophical descriptions. Included is a period essay 'Degrading a Generation'.
