Mary A. Gervin—a veteran instructor and writing consultant—hails from Columbus, Georgia. After graduating from college in Atlanta, she settled in Albany, Georgia, situated along the Flint River in southwest Georgia. A graduate of Florida State University, she is a retired English professor after having spent four decades honing the skills of emerging writers and budding poets and serving as a consultant for various publishing companies and educational boards.
