The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Is your church alive? Is it on fire? Are the power and presence of the Holy Spirit something that you feel and experience when you meet to worship the Lord with your brothers and sisters in Christ? Do the services bring blessings? Is the reality of God’s presence so real that you know without a shadow of doubt that God has spoken to you and you come away feeling challenged, edified and brought closer in your relationship to the Lord?
In many churches there is evidence that the Gifts of the Holy Spirit are not operating as the scriptures indicate they should, and so it is little wonder that they are bereft of the power which God wants to make manifest through His people in His church and in the world.

Lyall Drewett

Lyall Drewett was born in Bristol, England into a devout Christian family. He regularly worshipped at an Evangelical church and in 1958 had the opportunity to study the Scriptures at Emmaus Bible School in America. After two years' study, Lyall returned home and spent several years representing two major companies in the business world. In the 1980s, he became a lay preacher. As a pianist, he made several tapes and discs which were distributed far and wide. Lyall lives in Thornbury, South Gloucestershire and is married to Eleanor with whom he has had three children. Lyall worshipped at Thornbury Baptist Church for almost 27 years and more recently at Old Down Chapel in the village of Old Down, Gloucestershire.
