Mohammed Ahmed was born in Cairo. He is a tourism specialist and combines both academic and practical experiences in the tourism industry. He studied in Egypt at Cairo University, Fayoum Branch, where he successfully completed a B.Sc. and MSc. in Tourism Guidance. He also holds his BBA in Tourism and Hospitality Management at MODUL University Vienna. Currently, he is working as the deputy director of the Egyptian State Tourism office in London, as a result of being nominated for this position by the Egyptian Minister of Tourism. Tourism and Travel in Ancient Egypt has been translated into many languages and is also available as an audiobook in English.
Mohammed Ahmed has also worked as a cabinet member of the Egyptian Tourism Minister and for the international and domestic tourism sectors' online marketing department of the Egyptian Tourism Authority in Cairo. Ahead of joining ETA, he worked as freelance tour guide and travel manager at an Egyptian travel agency.
