Gordon Korman was born in Montreal. He wrote his first book when he was 12 years old, This Can't Be Happening at MacDonald Hall (Collège MacDonald), which was published in1978, when Gordon was fourteen. The prolific author has written more than sixty books for middle-grade and young adult readers, including the Slapshot series (Droit au but), bestselling Son of the Mob (Mon père est un parrain), an ALA Best Book for Young Adults, and Jake, Reinvented. He is the author of the popular Island (Naufragés), Everest (Everest), and Dive (Sous la mer) trilogies as well as The 39 Clues Book 2: One False Note, which debuted at #1 on the New York Times bestseller list, and The 39 Clues Book #8: The Emperor's Code. Korman now lives with his family in Long Island, New York.
