Hello my friends. I am a Baby Pigeon and I have just hatched along with my brother at a stud farm in the midlands. My mother has named me ‘The Little Blue Hen’ and I am about to take you on a journey that you will never forget for the rest of your life! We will meet friends that you will love and enemies that you will hate, and we will laugh till we cry at some of the things that we will see and do. As I am being trained to race all over England and France, before long, you will know everything about me, ‘The Little Blue Hen’.
My name is Richard Dickie Brindle, an 80-year-old retired scaffolder. For over 40 years, I have raced pigeons alongside my sons Rick and Bill. Recently, I came down with a cold and my doctor advised me to give up caring for the pigeons for health reasons. While sitting at home with not much to do, I decided to write about the best pigeon we have ever owned. As I started writing, I realized the best way to tell her story would be from her perspective—to see through her eyes and feel what she felt in her own mind.
