Colonel Thorndyke's Secret, Classics To Go

A tale of intrigue, murder, dacoits (highwaymen) all taking place in British India… A British soldier has stolen a diamond bracelet from a Hindu idol. Colonel Thorndyke gets hold of the item. He is subsequently sent to England, where he dies of wounds received in India. He bequeaths the bracelet to his relatives, having told his brother about it, but not its whereabouts. Meanwhile back in India the theft has caused quite a stir and a group of faithful Indians regard it as their religious duty to reclaim the jewel at any cost.
