Huntress

When famed bounty hunter Ralph "Papa" Thorson is killed by a car bomb, his widow and daughter take over the family business, tracking down wanted felons. Initially, they meet with strong resistance among the mostly male denizens of the bail-bond circuit, until they prove themselves more than capable of capturing even the most dangerous of bail-jumpers.

A gritty look at the underbelly of the justice system, as well as the true story of two extraordinary women who have prevailed in a world of men, and who have fought their way to the top of their profession.

Christopher Keane, Dottie Thorson

Christopher Keane is a novelist, screenwriter, and nonfiction author who teaches screenwriting at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. His biography of Ralph Thorson, The Hunter, was a bestseller and became a movie directed by Steve McQueen, and his biography of Dottie Thorson, The Huntress, became a USA Network series; he wrote screenplays for both.

Dottie Thorson took up bounty hunting after her husband, Ralph Thorson, was killed by one of his captures. She was the inspiration for the character of the same name, portrayed by Annette O'Toole, in USA Network's crime drama series The Huntress. Dottie lives and works in Los Angeles with her daughter and bounty hunting partner, Brandi Thorson.
