Based upon the “One New Man” of Ephesians 2:15, America’s spiritual DNA was established through a prayer spoken by the founding colonists of the Jamestown Settlement in Virginia—the birthplace and spiritual root of America.
A portion of this prayer, exactly as it was written and quoted from the book Lawes Divine, Morall and Martiall for the Colony of Virginea, printed in the year 1612, was spoken twice daily: “And call in the Jewes together with the fulnesse of the gentiles, that thy name may be glorious in al the world, the dayes of iniquity may come to an end, and we with all thine elect people may come to see thy face in glorie, and be filled with the light thereof for evermore.”
This prayer not only reveals a portion of Americas prophetic destiny, it is key to the restoration of contemporary America’s dying church. Rabbi Eric Carlson is founder and shepherd of Congregation Zion's Sake located in Newport News, Va. Congregation Zion’s Sake is a Messianic Congregation where Jew and Gentile break down the wall of enmity and worship together as “One in Messiah”. Through a prophetic vision from God he is called to spread the “Good News” of the Jewish Messiah according to Romans 1:16: “To the Jew First”, to provoke the Jewish people to jealousy, and to reach the lost and hurting among the Nations. Eric is a native of Fairview, Pennsylvania. He attained the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy, retiring in August 2003 after 22 years of decorated service in the Submarine Force. Responding to God’s call he founded Congregation Zion’s Sake in May 2000 and entered full time ministry upon retiring from Naval Service. Rabbi Carlson was ordained by the International Alliance of Messianic Congregations and Synagogues (IAMCS) in January 2006 after two years of Messianic Yeshiva and was ordained by Messianic Vision in May 2000. Eric hosts a daily Radio program “Torah Chai” on the Oasis Network 91.5 FM in Tidewater, Va., 89.7 FM and 93.7 FM in Branson/Springfield, Missouri and 88.7 FM in Canton, Ohio. He has been a speaker at MJAA conferences, Road to Jerusalem Conference, Promise Keeper events, Military Chaplain Retreats, regional Woman’s Aglow retreats, First Nations Conferences, College Commencements, and numerous ministry outreaches in the United States, Africa, Canada, Hungry, Israel, Russia, and the Ukraine. Eric is married to the former Barbara Patterson of Altoona, Pa. Eric and Barb have 4 children and three grandchildren. They currently reside in York County, Virginia.
