Marhaba

Mary L. Ghaleb received her Ph.D. in Foreign Language Education at The University of Texas at Austin. She has taught English in Lebanon, Bahrain, and in the Sultanate of Oman for over thirty years. In addition, she has conducted numerous workshops and teacher training sessions. She was also a lead in the revamping of the English curriculum for Lebanese schools, has authored Let’s Learn Together, a textbook, and the accompanying Let’s Learn Together Workbook, commissioned by the Center for Educational Research and Development in Lebanon, for learning English. These texts have been used in Lebanese schools for over twenty years and to this day. Her book Marhaba: Learn Spoken Lebanese is written for English speakers to help them learn to speak Lebanese without using the Arabic alphabet but rather using the Latin alphabet, so students can pick up the language more easily. An excellent resource for children in American Lebanese communities as well as others interested in learning to speak Lebanese.
