Richa Goyal Sikri is a journalist and storyteller specialising in gemstones, diamonds, vintage, and contemporary jewellery. She has a bachelor’s degree in commerce, a master’s in business administration, and is a gemmologist (coloured stones) from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). She spent the first 20 years of her career as executive director of STIC Travel Group, Asia’s leading travel and tourism organisation. A connoisseur of gems and jewellery, in 2014, she began curating and executing educational visits to mines, and gem cutting centres globally to better understand the journey of a stone from mine to market. Her unique storytelling style on Instagram in 2017, based on her experiences, garnered interest, and engagement from key press and industry stakeholders. Richa left the aviation and tourism sector in 2018 to pursue a second career in the gem and jewellery sector, and has since delivered talks, projects and articles for the Art Science Museum, Singapore, World Emerald Symposium, Colombia, Asian Institute of Gemmological Studies (AIGS), Thailand, Fabergé, the International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA), Gemand Jewellery Association of Sri Lanka, World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO), Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) of India, GemGenève, Buccellati, JNA magazine, Hong Kong, Gemological Institute of America (GIA), Vogue Singapore, Harper’s Bazaar, Robb Report, the Natural Diamond Council, Elle magazine, and India Today.
