Mary was a registered nurse for forty-five years. Upon retirement, her love for the city of Chicago prompted her to explore its communities. She has previously published The History of Terminal Island" for the San Pedro, CA historical society. She lives in Chicago with her husband Jim. Her daughter Shannon, who developed all of the maps included in this book, also resides in Chicago. Mary has another daughter, Elizabeth, and a son, Matthew."
