Joan Stammers first began writing poems for friends and family birthdays. She then attended writing classes and discovered a lifelong passion for the written word. Although this is her first children’s story, she’s had three short stories published in national magazines in Australia and has won prizes in competitions. She’s also a regular poetry contributor to her local community magazine. Joan still attends a weekly writing group, is a member of two book clubs, and does voluntary work for the local library. When not busy with her literary pursuits, Joan spends time with her ever-growing family. She has three children, six grandchildren, and even more in her extended family.
